Dr.Not Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 hi, i'm in aussie, so there is a time difference here. New to this site, so just wondering how long it is reasonable to expect a post to remain a chance of being answered cheers Dr.not Quote
Tiger Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 well, there's a lot of Aussies on this site so you're not alone. And there's plenty of US o A'ists and a fair amount of Europeans as well so there's pretty much always someone online it seems... But..hmm...a day or two..after that it slips too far down the list for it to be easily noticable. Usually answers (if someone knows) come a lot quicker than that though. Quote
dbroada Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 As Tiger says, a call for help is usually answered pretty quickly especially as we are a global community. However there are a lot of things that influence whether you get an answer or not. If the title is non descriptive (especially a simple "help needed"), I don't generally look. If the title is something that I think I may be able to answer then I'll look straight away. I also tend to look at posts with 0 replies a couple of times a day just in case I do know the answer. And finally timing is all important. Post just after I have left work on a Friday and I won't be rushing to help as I don't have AutoCAD at home. Some things I can reply to with using the programme but other things need checking. Quote
ReMark Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Once in a great while an "old" question will get a "bump" as someone who doesn't necessarily pay attention to the date it was first posted will jump in with a "new" response. So, as an example, I'll give this post a "bump" right now and it will go to the top of the list. Quote
