Im using autocad mechanical and im drawing in 3 views. Im making an engine and extruding everything and all the sudden i can't draw in one of my views. what happens is i can draw fine in the other 2 like top and right side. but when i click on the fiewport that i want front view, i can only draw verticly. i cna go back to the other views and be fine with polar turned on. when i go back to front view if i turn polar off then i can draw in any direction but i need it on.

is my polar messed up in front view somehow?

in short polar is on an only draw verticly in front view in other views i can do whatever.

thx for any help you can offer.

It sounds to me as though your UCS is not set for that view.

Make sure your UCS icon is ON. Then when you switch to the troublesome viewport type UCS then VIEW

Remember to do that again when you switch back.

When you type UCSICON ON it will appear in the lower left coner of the viewport (if set to the option of Noorigin)

After setting it to UCS VIEW you will see the x-axis extending to the right and the Y-axis extending up.

I would recommend always keeping the icon on.
