I have made a frame at work out of 100x75mm channel. I started to draw it when I got home.
I first drew the cross section of the channel with a pline and then extruded it (path) along another pline. The path was made up of 3 lines then converted to plines and joined.
The out come was not what I expected as the profile of the channel is not continuous along the whole path. Along the path there is one acute angle and one obtuse angle. The corner affected is the acute one.

Rather than extrude the profile along a path, try making it in parts and putting it together like you would with the actual materials. For example, extrude the profile to the length needed for one side. Then copy it and rotate it. You can 'slice' the solid to miter the corners if that's what you need. Continue this until you have all the pieces made and lined up. Then you can 'union' them together to create one solid object.

As for the size of the jpeg. Before you upload it, use an image program to change the size. Try to keep it around 600x400 pixels or smaller.

Ok guys thanks for all your help. I finally got it sorted. What I did was make the path of extrusion on the "inside" of the frame rather than the outside. Even thought the outside dims were the critical ones as far as the fitting of the frame was concerned, by defining the extrusion path as the inside, all I can think of is as the object is extruded it never "reverses" on to it self. Does that make sense ?
