MARK Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Using Autodesk 2006 I copied a PDF to the clipboard and pasted it in to a DWG. It looks fine (the PDF) I can stretch the image frame but when I try to print it the preview looks great but no PDF image comes out of the printer. Can I do what I am trying to do? Please advise. lulumara Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I did tried dwf files and insert to dwg it works but the text becomes wierd ,try dwf instead than pdf. But you have to modify the all the text. My version is AutoCad 2009LT. I'm not sure if the 2006 version can do it? Quote
MARK Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks......The drawing was sent to me as a PDF. This is why I am trying to use the PDF. Thanks.......Any other ideas? Marcus Quote
bklynbenz Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 convert it to a dxf, insert into drawing then scale accordingly if you need to work with it/change it up a bit, etc Quote
architecture68-raff Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 In Autocad 2006, I believe the best way to do that would be to convert the pdf into a tiff file, and then bring the tiff into your drawing using the image manager. Quote
MARK Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks to all...... When I change the extension to dxf and try to open the CAD the command line says invalid or incomplete dxf input. I guess I need Acrobat to change the PDF to anohter extension? Please advise. Marcus Quote
bklynbenz Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 i dont change the extension i actually change the file with a converter, ive been using the aide pdf to dxf converter for a while now with no problems check them out here, i think you can DL a trial version and then buy it if you like or find a hack www aidecad com (sorry this site wont let me post links cause i have less than 10 posts) Quote
MARK Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 Thanks.....I will look into the converter. Quote
