Not sure what I am doing wrong.
I create blocks that measure correctly in the .dwg that holds all my blocks
and I plop the .dwg into design center.

When I open up drawings from different people to plug in my blocks they appear out of scale.

Is there a way for the blocks to inherit their new drawings scale/units?

What am I doing wrong...also, any links/reading material on this subject would be great.

Thanks.
Jed

Go to OPTIONS>User Prefrences Tab then under Drag-and-Drop Scale, make sure you have the right units setting for every drawings you load.

If you are drawing in Model Space at 1:1 and the blocks are created at 1:1, there shouldn't be an issue.

If the block is a 'real life' object (such as a light fitting or an air conditioning unit for example) and they are drawn 'full size' and there's a problem, then I'd check the scale of the drawings that you're getting from the third party.

However, if the object is simply an icon that would indicate a real life object (say the letter 'T' in a box to indicate a thermostat), then they should be scaled up or down depending on your plot scale.

If that's the case, then let me know and I can post some macros that will insert blocks at the required scale.
