leesutto Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I have a plan which uses blocks to show different bathroom layouts, nested within these blocks the wash hand basin, bath and toilet are all individual blocks. When I explode any of the bathroom blocks all of the blocks referenced inside jump to 0,0,0. Is there any way to explode the bathrooms and maintain the positions of the blocks inside? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Lee Quote
dbroada Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I can only say I have never experienced that happening. I am used to things staying in the same place when a nested block is exploded. Quote
Strix Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 can you open the block files to find out if they have their position specified this way? Quote
BigMikeLV Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 could they be defaulting to the current Justification of the styles in the drawing? If they are the same styles with different justifications... when you explode them they would, i think, take on the properties of the master style. Quote
Strix Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 is that just for text though rather than blocks? Quote
BigMikeLV Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Oh wait your right.. text only.. my bad. Sounds like all your block components were made at 0,0,0. not sure how to fix that. gotta be a SETVAR Quote
leesutto Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 can you open the block files to find out if they have their position specified this way? I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean, these are blocks contained within the drawing not x-refs. --UPDATE-- Problem solved - I opened the bathroom block in block editor and exploded all of the blocks within. Once this was done and saved I could explode the bathroom block without losing positions. Quote
leesutto Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 that was kind of what I meant Oh right, thanks! Quote
Strix Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 in older versions you wouldn't have a block editor, you'd have to find the drawing file and open it as a drawing  Quote
dortega4269 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I know this thread is a little old, but you can try burst. The block will retain its color, position, etc. David Ortega Quote
