Fillet behaving strangely

Recommended Posts

I'm a contractor and run into MANY different flavors of AutoCad

On this one, fillet is different. I have to pick the second object twice

Below is the command line

Command: f

Radius (0)/

Radius (0)/Undo/Select second object:

Select second object or shift-select to apply corner:

I assume this is another 'improvement' that autocad made. How do I turn it off so that fillet acts normal?

bleugh - this is going to be one of those answers like PICKFIRST or similar

is anything else acting odd?

You say that you use many different flavors of Cad, so which flavor are you using when this happens. That command line sequence doesn't look like the normal sequence in Autocad 2007.

im guessing filletrad is set to 0 (zero) try setting it to the radius you want

I tried that. Same problem

However when I type .fillet it will respond like the way it use to

Command: f

Radius (100)/

Radius (100)/Undo/Select second object:

Select second object or shift-select to apply corner:

(same problem)

Command: .fillet

Current settings: Mode = TRIM, Radius = 100.0000

Select first object or [undo/Polyline/Radius/Trim/Multiple]:

Select second object or shift-select to apply corner:

I'm using Acad 2008 no add ons. It has just been installed. I ran 2008 but had to re-install it due to other problems.

This funny fillet wasn't there before

You say no add ons, are you sure? You are describing what happens when someone UNDEFINES a command and then redefines it to do something else. type REDEFINE and tell it fillet and see what happens

the problem was noticed 1 hour after a new install of autocad 2008.

I have seen before in Autocad 2006? where they brought out an improved command for line. (Again no add ons) When line was executed, the first point of the line was placed. Then a dialog box poped up for you to fill out to;

select distance, angle, other stuff I don't remember. Or continue to place the second point of the line as normal.

I noticed this when we upgraded from 2005. This was straight after a new install. This good idea could be turned off.

Later in 2006, the new feature was taken out at as their good idea proved to be not so good.

Anyway, I am reminded of this from my improved fillet command.

Perhaps Autocad only does this in Australia for market testing
