kellenhaskell Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I've wondered this question for years now and am finally going to ask it. Is there any way that i can change a setting so that when the AutoCAD opens it loads the my template with all my dimensions, layers, layouts and such rather than the generic "Drawing1.DWG" The way ive been doing it is just simply close drawing1.dwg and than open my template but as im trying to teach my boss basic AutoCAD it would be really nice if it just automatically opened so its really duh-huh for him. Thank you! Quote
CmdrDuh Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 yes, create a drawing with all your settings, and do a SAVEAS and change the type at the bottem to DWT. Then in options, under files, change the QNEW template to be the one you just created. I will upload a picture if that helps Quote

kellenhaskell Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 CmdrDuh, THANK YOU, ah i wish i knew this years ago it would have saved me some headaches. Very much appreciated, thanks again. Quote
neekcotrack Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 If you also change the other you can change the templale directory all around so it goes to a place on your network, so everyone has the same templates. Quote
