I have a floor plan and have used the generate space tool to place spaces on the floor plan. Now I want to add a room tag and capture

the space information. Name,Number, and Sq.Ft. the tag comes in

with default info and does not pick up the space information.???

How to I get the tag to show the correct information.???

Try this (if you haven't already):

Select the Space Object and right click

Select Edit Space Style

Click on the Property Sets... button

Enter the information you need

You can add or delete certain property sets as needed

The way it comes in is just default.

You could add Manual Property Definitions to one of the existing Property Set Definitions or create a new Property Set Definition with the information you need for your tag.

For example:

Add Manual Property Definition to the existing Property Set Definition, that way you can type in whatever name you would like. This would be done through the Style Manager.

I hope this helps.

I don't understand how that will make the tag pick up the data.??

Tags read Property Data within objects. When you modify the Property Set Definitions within an object, the tag will read that information. Creating Manual Property Definitions allows you to type in the information you want.

Example:

My Aec3_Room_Tag is set up to read Room Finish Objects and Room Objects Property Sets. My Space Style is set up to read the same Property Sets. In the Room Finish Objects and Room Objects Property Set Definitions I have added Manual Property Definitions so that I can type in whatever information I like and the tag will read that information.

I apologize if I did not explain it well.

Perhaps this will help:
