RedHairWonder Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I have previously used ADT, is there any wall tool in Auto CAD 2008? It would make my job much easier if I could set up standard wall tools for my company, that could then be easily viewed in 3D. We run a fast paced project planning department and often have only a couple of hours to get a detailed skecth out the door. It would be great if we no longer had to waste time draing lines to form walls and trimming like crazy. Any help or information is greatly appreciated. We are also looking to update our software to ADT or MEP if that is the only option for this tool. Thanks, Kit Quote
ReMark Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Not sure if this would be exactly what you're looking for but have you investgated using AutoCAD's Multiline command? Look under the Draw menu. It's also possible to create your own custom multiline style too. Quote
RedHairWonder Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 Yea, I currently use the multiline command. Not exactly what I am looking for, thanks for the response. Quote
ReMark Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Have you tried looking for a wall routine LISP file? Quote
RedHairWonder Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 I am still new to ACAD so I am not familiar with LISP files. Quote
feargt Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 if you also want it in 3d then use polysolid, give a width then a height and draw your wall, then add a material from the concrete materials library toolpalette Quote
RedHairWonder Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 Thanks, everyone. I think we are just gonna bite the bullet and go with CAD Architecture. The construction side here use MEP and love it. Quote
ReMark Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Maybe I should have suggested the Polysolid command. Height, width and justification can all be pre-defined. The downside is you can't intersect a wall made from a solid. "A solid cannot intersect itself" is the error message you'll get if you try to do so. Quote
