Im new here, so hi all
I have just got 2006 upgrade from 2005, can anyone tell me how to customise the toolbars? In 2005 I mixed the object snap buttons into two other toolbars, now its a little more complicated.... anyone tried it yet?
Thanks

Paul, welcome to our forum. First the bad news: AutoCAD 2006 has a completely new and redesigned system for customising the user interface, so none of your old MNU files will work. The good news is that the new system is much better.
See here (http://lynn.blogs.com/lynn_allens_blog/2005/03/customizing_is_.html) and here (http://www.hyperpics.com/cad/AutoCAD/Whats_New_in_AutoCAD_2006/Customization.asp) for more details.
As well as the new CUI dialogue box, the whole underlying structure is changed. Menus are now controlled through a new file type, the .CUI file. This uses XML (like most smart apps these days e.g. Dreamweaver) to describe menus and toolbars.

Thanks for that, I will have a proper read tonight. I will take your word that its better.... doesnt alter the fact that I now have to have an extra toolbar filling my screen though :x
I thought I was fairley good on autocad until I read some of these posts on your forum
