im having trouble creating labels for my drawing in civil 3d 2008 when i create the txt is appears huge and i have no idea how to scale it down can anybody please help??

 

also when i create my dimension lines they come out really small. any help would be greatly appreciated

Regarding the labels, check what scale the drawing is set to as the text size of the labels are relative to the scale set in the drawing

Re: Dimension lines. Is there an equivalent to AutoCAD's Dimension Styles in Civil 3D? If so, I'd take a look there first.

where do i look to check the scale i know its supposed to be 20

Are the labels Civil 3D created? If so, you can edit the text style in the label drop down box. Go to Lines/Curves > Add line/curve labels> style, select arrow in the middle drop down > edit current selection.
