skipsophrenic Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Is it true that there are things that can be drawn in inventor but not in autocad? I wouldn't say cant be drawn, it's just inventor allows for stress analysis and other things to do with seeing if a prototype will work, BEFORE spending alot of money on building one and then having it fall flat on it's face. (If I'm wrong i'm sure someone will tell me! at least i hope they will . . . .) Quote
Ritch7 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 inventor is better? inventor comes with its own unique program, autocad mechanical, ADMS and vault, so of course its better than the standard vanilla autocad. Quote
Lazer Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Inventor is a different kettle of fish to Autocad, In Inventor you sketch first then dimension and add constraints to control the sketch, then turn the 2d into 3d, you model it as you would build it, change a screw and all the holes that screw goes in will change, the list goes on and and on, dynamic simulation is a mind blower, this feature can run real life simulations. As for your question, autocad can draw everything Inventor can, only thing is Inventor has far more control. Quote
