Text issues with xref

we are xref'ing a drawing that we received from another company, and when in our drawing the text from the xref has a border drawn around it, and sometimes prints out with shading in the box. I checked the xref drawing and the text in that drawing does not have a border. Anyone know of a fix? or have the same problem

Check if the xref'd dwg has wipeouts... Wipeout > Frames > On.
If that isn't the problem maybe it's Mtext with Background Masks. Select the Mtext and in Properties it will tell you if it's on or off.

Is it an imageframe? If so set it to "0". I'm not sure if this the exact solution though.

that worked, i forgot about wipeout i was only checking text masks. Thanks
