grain Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Sometimes/frequently when opening a drawing file a dialogue box opens headed: 'SELECT SHAPE FILE. It suggests a file with a shx suffix but its default location is 'My Documents' Because I cant make sense of it i choose 'cancel'. Any idea what it wants and where I can get it from or is it fine to ignore. My most frequently used time savers: Mouse scroll button for zoom and pan and setting a short cut for multileader command. dbroada Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 This has been discussed recently. Really you need to go back to the original author and get the file. My Documents was the last place AutoCAD looked, not necessarily where the file should be. It might be a font or it might be used to define a linetype. Without it you don't get the full picture. Quote
grain Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Does anybody recognise this as being the answer: "I think it is to do with the software used to create the drawing or the format used for electronic transfer" Quote
