ILLZILLA Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Is it possible to make a solid no plot hatch that will cover up any layers below it? For example if you put a square with this hatch in it over an xref of lets say a floorplan it would not plot anything in the area where the hatch was. Quote

GhostRider Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 some people have printing problem with wipeouts, there's been a few threads on itand I don't remember anyone having a solution for it. you might search for those posts some say prints just black, while other say they just print crazy, I use them often but haven't experienced any problems printing. ILLZILLA Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Ok thanks, Ill try find those threads Quote
dtkell Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 For .ctb style: set a pen in your plotter to color 255 and screening to 0. Draw a solid hatch of this color that covers the area. It should blank out what's behind it. You may have to do some draworder adjustment. Not sure what to do with .stb Quote
d_lay123 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Either dtkell's color 255 hatch, or update/change your pdf driver/viewer. WIPEOUTS are OLE objects: older viewers and drivers print them as black/solid color. try looking for a free pdf driver like pdf995, etc. and see if it solves it. Quote
wannabe Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Have you installed the Autodesk - PDF? In 2007 mine accepts wipeouts and doesnt print their frame if the frames are turned off. Quote
d_lay123 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 The downside to the autodesk PDF driver is that it creates unnecessarily HUGE PDF files Run against bluebeam or pdf995 it can almost double the size of the file. Quote

wannabe Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Also, another way to solve the problem would be to use text boxes that hide the background; thats if you can someway make the box the correct size and the text invisible. Quote
