Importing Vector Files into Photoshop.

Hi Folks!

Is it possible to import a vector based file into Photoshop?

I originally created some shapes in Photoshop, I then exported the paths to Illustrator. From Illustrator, I used the "offset paths" tool which unfortunately Photoshop doesn't seem to have (unless anyone can tell me otherwise)! :roll: Now, I need to somehow import it back into Photoshop (as a vector based shape) to continue with the editing using the shapes tool.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

NB. I have Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS.

I am pretty sure you can import files from Illustrator into PhotoShop.

Thanks for responding!

Sure, you can import Illustrator files into photoshop, but, whenever you do, it always rasterizes the image, and that's the problem. :cry:

I need to be able to import the files as a vector shape. Of course you can make a work path from a rasterized image within photoshop, but the edges always comes out jagged. :x

Any suggestions would very much be appreciated.

I have resolved it!! :shock: :shock:

OK, for anyone interested, heres how to achieve it;

From Illustrator, choose Edit > Preferences > Files & Clipboard. In the Preferences dialog box, select AICB (No Transparency Support). Then select one of the AICB options, and click OK. You can now copy all or a portion of an illustration, switch to Photoshop, and paste it into a Photoshop image.
