paulgomes Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 hi all I need help in plotting a template that was given to me in model space. One solution I taught of was to use it as a first viewport and then create another view port inside the existing viewport. dont know if it will work also I am having problems createing a viewport to fit my odd shaped survey data any help or ideas will be appreciated Thanks Paul 316 305 9288 Quote
rkent Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Your question is not real clear. Do you want the template you were given to be used in Paper Space? If so, open the file you were given. Go to a layout and create a viewport the size of your sheet you want to plot out; so if 36x24 is your sheet size then create a viewport that size. Go into the viewport and zoom Extents, now use CHSPACE to move the MS objects into PS. For an odd shaped viewport, first make a rectangular viewport big enough to show all of your survey, set the scale properly, now draw an odd shape with a pline to include the survey the way you would want a viewport to be set up to show it, use the Close option at the end to close the pline. Now use the Mview, Object option and pick the pline. Use match properties to set the scale between the rectangular viewport and the odd shaped one, finally erase the rectangular one. Hope that helps. Post a drawing or PDF if you can. Quote
