gmdr Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I would like to draw the say rectangle with dimensions of the 5000x6000mm .I tried to draw this rectangle but it is going of out of workspace .I want to print this rectangle as dimensions showing 5000x6000mm could any body help form selecting limits and scaleing and plotting Quote
rkent Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 After drawing the rectangle, use Zoom, Extents. In the plot dialog, plotting would involve picking Extents in the drop down choices, then pick fit to scale or set a scale in the dialog box as well. Quote
ReMark Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Limits can be set using the LIMITS command. It will as for coordinates of the lower left then the upper right hand corners. You could choose 0.00,0.00 and 7000.00,7000.00 or any number larger than the rectangle you're drawing. How are you drawing the rectangle? Are you using the Line command, or Pline command or the Rectangle command? Draw your object (the rectangle) in Model Space. You can plot from model space if you'd like to. Or, you can plot from a Layout but you'll have to use a Viewport to "see" the rectangle you drew in model space. Viewports can be "scaled". Quote

Start the line command, enter 0,0 for lower left starting point, now enter 6000,5000, end line command. Now ZOOM, Extents. Now you can see the area you want to work with. Alternatively you can start the rectangle command, enter 0,0, now enter 6000,5000. Zoom, Extents. Quote
totzky Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Assuming you don't want to plot on paper space too, Here's what you can do: 1. Assuming also that you will use a letter size paper, draw a 240X204(Depends on plotter used) rectangle. 2. Draw the 6000X5000 rectangle and zoom extent. 3. Scale the 240X204 to circumscribe the 6000X5000 taking note of the scale used because you will use this for your reference when doing your dimensioning. 4. The scaled 240X204 will now become the border. 5. After that plot to fit. Quote
totzky Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 If you want to plot in paperspace try practicing with the templates bundled with your software. Quote
