spotted zebra Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 noob to the forum but not to autoCAD. hopefully i can offer help and get some. on to my problem i need to include the file name of the drawing on the sheet. i would just put a text box with the desired information on the drawing but this seems tedious and if there is a way to include the file name i see no reason in wasting time. thanks in advance for the help Quote
GhostRider Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 probably a couple of ways to do it, I use a field in MTEXT on my titleblock for filename including path and save date then you don't have to manually update the text everytime , there's sevral threads on the forum about fields and the help but it's pretty self explanatory , if you have the MText editor open you can hit the CTRL+F keys and the fields menu pops up... dbroada Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I use the "plot stamp" available from the print screen. We place ours up the margin but you can position it on the drawing (I think) Quote
spotted zebra Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 ok thanks i tried searching it but nothing came up. Quote
ammobake Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 You should be able to type in "plotstamp" in the command line. I know there are all kinds of fancy options with autocad 2009. You can have the plot stamp show whatever you want i think because you can turn off everything but the user-defined fields you manually create (which would show anything you type in as your plot stamp). You could even have plot stamps showing "red lines" or "charlie brown is creepy" The standard Plot stamp fields include Drawing name, layout name, data and time, login name, device name, paper size, plot scale (not including any user-defined fields you add). You can put all, none, or any combination of each i think. Also, If you click on "advanced" in the plot stamp dialog box, you can also specify the location for the stamp as well as what text height to use, font style, offset distances, etc..etc.... -ChriS Quote
