Hi I'm getting to grips with sketchup 7 and have a window/door problem. I'm working on buildings that do not have square rooms (and have north lights). This means I am unable to push/pull out door and window openings which is a limitation well documented in the help, unfortunately an alternative is not given. Does any kind soul have a nice tidy solution up their sleeve to achieve these angled openings? thanks

How about doing it in Autocad and then Import to Sketchup?

Tenere, i think you want to use the intersect command, you can draw a seperate block the size of the opening you require, then push it into position in the wall. Then select the wall & the opening block, then right click and select intersect with model. Now delete away your opening and any excess lines.

I agree, this should give you the result you are looking for.

Here is a visual (screenshot) of the process if you want.
Just make the opening the same size of your door.

Thanks guys, sounds just the ticket. I must be a bit thick not to have ventured in that direction for myself, instead I was sat drawing in the geometry manually! - dohh. Help much appreciated.
