how can i get rid of facets when printing an isometric view. this is part of the arrangement documents for the Higher Graphics course. i thought i could carry out solview>soldraw commands as i know this gets rid of facets but i can not seem to set up an isometric viewport before carrying out these commands.
any ideas??

I am not sure I understand the problem, but try SOLPROF. This will work for any Vpoint so for isometric view too.
If you have curved surfaces, try to set the FACETRES variable to heigher value -this also will make the rendered images better (if any in your work)

Try......this..type in command prompt.
Dispsilh - Controls display of silhouette curves of solid objects in Wireframe mode. Also controls whether mesh is drawn or suppressed when a solid object is hidden.
0 - Off
1 - On

Use 3D View to setup an ISO view. Then when you type SOLVIEW/SOLDRAW use the UCS option/switch 'current'.
Then you should get the ISOVIEW.
Also if you are in an active viewport, with no previous SOLDRAW or SOLVIEWS attempted, and have an object in a 3dVIEW>isometric, and type the command SOLPROF it creates a block of the object which is clear of facets etc.
Keep posting if required. I know it's a scutter but it's easy once you know how.

I have to agree with f7, also check out tools>options>display>display resolutions, adjust thearcs and circles smoothness to a higher figure.
make sure you regen all before plotting.

The only way to eliminate facets is to use SOLDRAW/SOLVIEW etc since these commands create 2D views.
