jpegs in cad files

Hello;
Can someone tell me or point me in the direction of where I might find instructions on attaching jpegs or other images onto an autocad file...I've seen plans at the building departmet where the cover sheet has b&w photos of the site and I'm wondering how to go about doing the same. I'm on Autocad 2005.
