autocack Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Hi guys, I want to put circles (of constant diameter) around a circular line. So say Diameter 25mm circles at a spacing of 400mm (centre to centre)around a line of radius 30m. At the min I'm just copying them around a line I've drawn of that radius but surely there must be an easier way...? Any help is greatly appreciated! Quote
autocack Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 I'm clearly going to sound uber-retarded now but i'm not really sure what that is... Thanks though - now I have an idea of the function I'll have a play round. Cheers for the quick responses! Quote
skipsophrenic Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 just type in array at the command bar, and click on the polar option in the dialogue box. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Another option. If you covert the circular line into an open polyline you could use the MEASURE or DIVIDE commands. Not necessarily my preferred method in this situation, but just the proverbial other cat-skinning method. Quote
autocack Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 what if i just have a curved line and want to paste a load of circles along it (using the curved line as the centre line)? Quote
Dipali Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 what if i just have a curved line and want to paste a load of circles along it (using the curved line as the centre line)? Make a block of the circle with its center as insertion point. than use divide command with block option on your curve. so it will place that circle as all the resultant nodes point Quote
