Hi guys!
i am using autocad2004. everytime i create round surfaces they look fine and dandy in the wireframe, shadow or gouraud mode. but as soon as i render it it turns totaly jagged. ive tried tons of things. setting the surftabs and the viewres or the options as well. but the round thing are still not round. if i export the object to bryce for example and render it there, it is jagged as well. so it has to be the geometry.

can anyone help????

thanks!!!!

Check out the anti-aliasing options by clicking the More Options... button in the Rendering Options part of the Render dialogue box. Also, make sure you increase the Rendered object smoothness from the default 0.5 to about 5 in the Display tab of the Options dialogue box (Tools>Options...).

When you pull meshes into Bryce they must be smoothed. See here (http://www.cadtutor.net/dd/bryce/atob/atob.html#Five) for details.

To make an objects roundness increase, type in FACETRES and set the value to 10. Hope this helps.

You could also try FACETDEV set to 0.01

I have the same thing with my AutoCAD2000. I tried to create a T-Intersection in 3D form. When I rendered it. I became a box nowhere near what I drew.

When rendering the drawing shifts itself . Here's 4 pictures.
This is the top view showing my drawing.

This is the 3d form that I had to print and scan to show this image.

It looks to me like you created this with meshes. Is this correct?
I am not sure but i don't think CAD renders a mesh unless its a 3D mesh.
The way i would maybe do this is create all lanes etc... as solid objects using extrude then render the model..

It's created with a command called edgesurf with 10X2 mesh set-up. I never had a problem with it until this showed up. I tried a different way and still got the same outcome. I copied a remade version into another file and it rendered with no problem. A few commands later, it's back to block form again. I tried to bring back the original from a 3ds, but it's wireframe shows block form with no way to it's original form. Now I have to remake the landscape from scratch. But that's the easy part.

Ok I finished it and copied it to another file and it came out great. Here's what it's supposed to look like.
