Viewport props says scale is 0

When I pick the viewport, the properties dialog says the scale is 0. How do I change this so the properties box will give me the scale of the viewport?

The vport is not locked.

maybe the viewport zomm scale is zero (or 0.001 which rounds to 0.0)

Yea - that would be my guess. Your units are set low enough that the value is being rounded down to 0.0...?

I have a road measuring at 43000 metres across. The whole model is out of whack, and will need to be scaled down to the correct size. When I set the precision at 0.00000, I got a scale showing up.
