AutoCAD Strangeness, pasting leaves some invisible

Recommended Posts

I have a drawing that I need to copy part of and paste it into a new drawing but not everything pastes. All the layers are turned on and none are frozen.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Are any of the layers in the source dwg locked?

None of the layers are locked.

How are you selecting the objects? Window? I've had instances in which blocks have had insertion points very far away from them (very annoying) so they will not be selected by the window...

Check the number of objects found when you select them when copying and after pasting too.

Also, this could be a case of proxy objects not being shown.

Unusual...

try typing 'select' then 'all' and copying and pasting everything into the new drawing and delete what you don't need. It's most likely an odd insertion point like what was previously said.
