ViewCube does not show

I have the ViewCube settings on default - 50% opacity, top right corner, etc - but it does not show up. Can someone please tell me what I have to do to make it work? I'm trying create a 3d model and going back to the drop down menu every time i need to adjust something is a huge pain.

The viewcube only shows up in the 3D visual styles :- 3D wireframe, hidden, conceptual & realistic. If you're in 2D wireframe you won't see it. Other than that ensure NAVVCUBEDISPLAY is set to 1.
