Hello,

I am new to the forum and a beginner to autcad. I am using Autocad lt. 2009. I am trying to create a layout from the model.

I use the layout wizard with an architectural title block and set the scale to 1/8” = 1’. When it asks me to specify locations it gets messed up. I try to enter the value recommended by one of my text books, but it keeps giving me a locked sign after I type in a "comma". I try just clicking on one corner of the page and then the next, and it moves the image to the center of the page but the viewport is still in the lower left corner. All that prints is the almost totally empty viewport. I can’t seem to move or control anything.

Thanks

For now try turning DYNamic input off, so look at the bottom of your screen and pick the DYN button, it should be gray when off. If you don't have a command line showing toggle it on with Ctrl+9.

Now go through the steps and see if it works, report back for more help either way.

Once you have a viewport created and the model is not centered simply double click inside the viewport and use the pan command to center your model how you want. Then double click outside of the viewport to get back to PaperSpace. Now lock the viewport, click once on the viewport boundary, right click, pick display lock, on.
