Hi.

Does anyone know a way to specify a different directory to save the BAK files in?

Our main server (in our small office) tends to get filled up with all the .bak files, so it would be much more efficient to save these to our personal C: drives instead.

I was not able to find this in the options.

Thanks!

There is a varaible for this. I cannot remember what it is and trying to find it in AutoCAD help is impossible unless you know what it is to start with. If I find it I will reply again.

It has one drawback... You may have two drawings with the same name in different directories and AutoCAD will make only one backup file in the single directory you specify. Example if you 'saveas' a file (DRAW1.dwg) in a ISSUED subdirectory, you might bind the xrefs or something then save a couple of times.. the BAK file for DRAW1 is now the one in the ISSUED directory and not the origainl DRAW.dwg

Hope this helps. Will try and find the command.
