Greetings all,

I have browsed these forums for a while but usually could find the answer without having to post but this time I am stumped.

We have one machine here which refuses to use a path set in the support file search path.

The path points to a "third party fonts" which is nested under "fonts" directory.

I have checked and rechecked the path is correct, the directory exists and indeed has fonts within it.

I have other machines here with the exact same set up. 8)

This one installation refuses to find those fonts. :?

What am I missing.

Vector,
Sorry you haven't had a reply yet, so thought I'd take a shot at it. Not knowing alot about fonts, I would think that what you are doing is correct. Last week at work my supervisor had to load a font from a outside dwg by going to Contol Panel-Fonts, then from the "file" pull down she clicked "install new font". Hope that helps and that we are not talking about 300 fonts. Let us know if/how it works.....

What if you set current the same profile that is on the other machines to this one?Try setting it via FONTALT that may help.

Fontalt is simply specifying a "proxy" font for ones that are mising.

The machine is acting as if the fonts are not their and proxys the font specified by fontalt.

Unfourtunatly the fonts are there. I am going to try to just move all the fonts in the 3rd party folder (which was nested inside the fonts folder) into the base font folder.

Hate to do this cause we will have like 600 fonts in the same folder but I guess it wont matter untill I need to clean it up.

Hrm. That would be for the operating system (windows in this case). Wont help much with autocadd as far as I know. But thanks anyhow.

Edit 06/28/05

I decided to give your a suggestion after a complete re-install of Acad and vioula it worked ! Thanks

Now if someone can explain to me why autocadd is calling for a system font ?

Why did I not have to install this font on any other machine yet they find the offending font just fine ?
