Hi
I have download a big dwg file from a developer. The extract of which below.
http://www.cadimage.net/postimages/plan.jpg
My problem is that where the dimension 9000 (I know for the fact that it is 9m.) drawn is on the original drawing. But when I try to dimension it myself, I have got 9000000 (in red), that gives me 9000m which is not correct. The Overall Scale of the orginal drawing being 1.
How do I rectify the problem?
Also, I have changed the Text Height to 200000 in order for my text to be large enough to see.

Hello;

The drawing its in millimeters try scaling it to 0.01 to obtain meters and also adjust the UNITS to less zeros in the precision tab maybe 0.00 its enough; hope it helps...

Hi Jorge
Thanks for your swift response.

Setting of the original drawing:
Model Space OVERALL SCALE = 1. UNIT = 0.

I also assumed the drawing is in millimetres. That's why 9m. appears 9000. But why 1000 times larger when I make my own dimension?

Surely the OVERALL SCALE will be affected if I scale the drawing down 0.01. I suppose one is not meant to make change to the setting of an orginal drawing SCALE particular as it will give change to completely different dimensions altogether so to speak. What do you think?

Hi;

Under your Dimmension Options does the Measurement Scale = 1.00 ?? maybe its reading 1000000 with the Leading and Trailing boxes chequed, that way 9m. = 9000000.

Also I some times receive drawings that are scaled in inches or mm. thats when I have to sclae everything down to 1=1 when its inches (0.0254) and millimeters (0.01).
