Is it possible to rename a block that is currently in use (and also have references update)?

Thanks...

You could use the design center to insert and/or redefine a current block. Just name the one in another drawing the same as the one you want to update.

You could always use BEDIT to update the reference and then RENAME to do what it says on the tin.

Thanks Wannabe - Rename is what I was looking for.

Funny thing, I searched ACAD help for "rename block" and it came up with unrelated entries. Searching for "rename" (now that I know the command I am looking for) finds the help I no longer need.

Maybe I need a refund on my ADESK taxes.

Thanks, John

Yes there is command of renaming blocks in express tools of Autocad version. Or another way is simply create new block and there is command for replacing blocks. Your all the blocks would get replaced with new blocks
