I can audit the file, but purging shuts down AD.

WBlock out the contents of the drawing to your hard drive. Open a new drawing and insert content. Save under new name. Now, try to plot. What happens?

What steps have you taken to troubleshoot the problem so far?

That was my final resort and low and behold, it worked.
