Delta-Sword Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 i am trying to produce a pump symbol for a piping diagram. 2 polyline arc and a base in 2D. i have added a linear parameter and a scale action however when i scale my block the polyline width changes can i stop this happening ?? DS Quote
NBC Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Does making the polyline have zero width affect it ? Quote
Delta-Sword Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 No it doesnt, i need the line to have a constant width of 0.75 and not have a line weight. the polyline is also in a block so i cant edit jus the polyline Quote
NBC Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 If a block contains a polyline that has a width assigned to it, then when the block is scaled, the width of the polyline will be scaled with it. How you get around this problem, would be to make the polyline be zero width, and put the polyline onto a layer where the lineweight of the layer is assigned the desired 'width' of the polyline. Delta-Sword Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Here is the file. the small pump is the block and the bigger one is the scaled block as you see the line has got bigger. is there any way to change that ?? thanks PUMP BLOCK.dwg Quote
Delta-Sword Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 thanks a lot that helped but........ when i zoom in and out the lineweight changes with the zoom level. as in the line is thin when you zoom in and thick when you zoom out. is there any way around this. if not no worries. an thanks again for your help Quote
msarqui Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 So, 4 years after the last post, I am searching for the same solution... Have you find something to not change the width of the polyline in a dinamyc block? Quote
msarqui Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Clever, very clever. Good solution. Thanks Mike! Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 No problem. We have similar occurences with some of our blocks here Quote
