mocxi
Please help me in this question I have a pair of gear and the splined shaft. I would like to Motion simulation this assembly by Cosmosmotion then export the data to CosmosWork for FEA purpose (Solidwork 2007). But my problem is: I don't know which mates (coincident, parallel of concentric) are suitable for joint between splined shaft and gear (the gear hub is spined) Thank for your help
shift1313
i would use a contact constraint once in the motion simulation. you will apply a torque to the shaft and the teeth engagement with your gear will create the motion. Before you go into the motion simulation i would add a concentric constraint to the shaft/gear pair
