Right, I am going to monopolise this forum for a while (please let me know if i get tiresome or boring). I have learnt some basics and think i understand the principles of ADT and am now going to throw away the books and try for myself to learn as much as i need to produce some simple 3-d, elevations, floor plans and sections of my domestic extensions. If it is good enough for bigger projects its good enough for me!!!!
I am going to start by making a Tool Pallette with all aspects that i think i will need.
Then i am going to create all the wall types i envisage - this will include a wall with a strip footing on it.
I will start by creating the external wall of the existing building - this (from now on) will be measured/surveyed from corner to corner and then windows positioned afterwars. At the moment i measure from corner to window, from window to window, from window to corner (if that makes sense!!).
Adding the styles for internal walls and positioning them should be straight forward.
Do i then repeat for the first floor? Adding a floor slab between them? Can i place these on top of each other in the same drawing or do i need to do the different constructs? Is it possible to creat a slab made up of concrete, insulation, screed etc? and similarly of timber joists and floor boards? - This would be useful for creating the sections.
Please let me know if i am starting off wrongly, i really want to master this beast!
