xref - binding

Everytime i go to bind a drawings sent to me by a consultant into a drawing i have set up it comes up invalid. However when i create another drawing and xref it and bind it works fine. IS ther something i need to do to the drawings i have recived to allow them to bind into mine?

Can the xref be brought into your main drawing without the term "invalid" being given?
If so, you would need to look at the command lines to see the basis for the "invalid" message.
There might be a block or something within your main drawing that disallows the xref to be brought in.

Audit both drawings. When I have this problem this usually works. Also make sure there are no nested xrefs that are unloaded relating to the xref you are binding. Hope this helps.
