Is it possible to have letters in 3D format with autocad 2002? If so, how is that attainable?
Any other idea for a logo in 3D?

If you have Express tools you can use Explode Text then simply extrude the exploded text.
If you don't have Express tools then you can export the text as a wmf file and then insert the wmf file into your drawing and explode it. Then extrude it to make it 3D.

I do not have the Express Tools but have tried the second option. Something is missing and I am going to ask a silly question> in what program the text must be write to be saved as a wmf. file?

Sorry Rob for multiple posting but is getting to late over here and not so fresh. I have tried to export the file but when to insert it as a block I encount problems. I do not have the option to insert a block as wmf. file.

Sorry Orbit, I should have been clearer.
You should create the text in Acad (multiline text tool).
> Select the text only once it has been created and go to the File menu and choose Export.
> Save As type .wmf (save the file into one of your chosen folders).
> Go to the Insert menu in Acad and choose (8th row down on menu list) Wndows Metafile.
> Navigate to where you saved the .wmf file and insert it into your drawing.
> Just press Return for each of the command line prompts when it asks for scale X etc. and the wmf file will be inserted into your drawing.
> Select the inserted object and explode it using th Explode tool.

I remember from before that I couldn't get my method to work as explained above  . I'll give it another go to see if I can find a way around why I can't get it to work. Perhaps you may like to try it to see how you get on.

Forget my last post - that method simply does not work!
I must be having a senior moment! I'm sure it used to work for me in the past but some setting somewhere is preventing me from doing it now! :?
I feel that you need Express tools to do 3D text successfully. Express tools would cost you extra money but it was shipped with our version of Acad 2000 for free!
If you are stuck you could always send me a file of the text you need extruded stating your requirements etc. and I can see what I can do for you. That's the best I can do for now.

if y ou have coreldraw, layout your logo & text, must be vector format.
then export them out of corel as a .wmf.
import into autocad, scale to suit, Then extrude to desired thickness.
this is what i do when one of our clients want 3D signage on their display stand and i want to illistrate this on the rendering.
p.s make sure your text and logo in corel are not black or they will import in black and you wont see them in autocad. unless you run autocad with a white screen.

Thanks for helping out qcp310.
I've got a cheap illustration package called Designworks and I just tried your method of saving out some text as a .wmf file. Importing this .wmf file back into Acad and then exploding and extruding it works fine.
Now why doesn't it work when Acad saves out the text as a .wmf file and the same procedure is followed?

it may be that when you export text out to a wmf in a graphic program, it converts the text to curves, wheras autocad exports them out as text. so when you re import them, it brings back the text, as text.
corel gives you the option to export out as text or as curves.
this could be the reason, not sure.
