Hi Guys.
I have upgraded my machine to raid 0 and I am finding AutoCAD extremely slow to load. :( When it is working it seems OK. Can anyone help as it is a bit frustrating as other programs seems faster.
Thanks

The first thing to say is that this may not be anything to do with your RAID setup. There are a number of resons why AutoCAD is slow to load.
Once loaded, is AutoCAD still slow? If not, I suspect some other issue. Very often it's a network problem. On loading, AutoCAD does a bunch of network stuff, including connecting to the internet. If any of these connections are slow or absent, the load will be slow.

Many thanks Cad Tutor
AutoCAD seems to run OK once it is loaded and the PC is not on the net, but I see where you are coming from.(the program will still try to connect). I spoke to the network chap at my college, and he said they had a similar problem. He seemed to remember a page file issue but would not be specific. He sent me to Autodesk forum but I got no joy there.

Try setting the Live enable options to NEVER, found in TOOLS>OPTIONS>SYSTEM
Also so the 'general options' also under the system tab set startup to Show traditional.
I found the Today window used to slow my PC down to a crawl.

Hi Brooksn
I have checked my settings and the options are different. I am using AutoCAD 2004 so that might be the difference.
Many thanks for your reply.
