Hi all,

I am a AutoCad newbie with a question. I am drawing up a part that has a cylindrical head. The head has a diameter of .300". I want to enlarge it by a factor of 16 so it is more visible on the print ( I am using a preexisting template). Is there a way of scaling it so the dimensioning measurement stays the same? Every time I enlarge it the dimensioning changes to .480". Thanks ahead of time.

FYI, I am using AutoCad 2009.

All drawings should be done in Model Space at a scale 1:1

So draw your cylinder head with the desired diameter of .300" & enlarge your drawing in a ViewPort by selecting (or creating) a desired scale. This will enable you to not only print your drawing of a cylinder head large enough for viewing but, will also scale that cylinder head to the desired diameter of .300"

Do some reading up on Viewports & you will see how simple your task can be achieved :)

Thank you, that helped alot. You were right that once I got into it, it was pretty simple. Thanks again.
