mdb-dcla Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hello. I am trying to recreate a linetype i had seen on a set of civil drawings. It is a dotted line where the spacing of the dots respond to the radius of the line. In the drawing I had seen, this linetype was used for contours so that when the contour took a sharp bend, the dots were close together and when the contour straightened out, the dots were further apart. I have been googling this with every keyword that I can think of but as of yet have been unsuccessful in finding any information on how this is accomplished. To me, this seems well beyond the capabilities of any "creating custom linetype" tutorial.... perhaps it requires a knowledge of lisp scripting? If someone could point me in the right direction on how to approach creating this linetype, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! mb. Quote
ReMark Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 This is close as I could get. I'm guessing it's not quite what you were referring to though. http://cadtips.cadalyst.com/node/tiplisting?keywords=dotted%20linetype Quote
mdb-dcla Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 thanks remark! i tried it out and, while its a pretty cool lisp, it doesn't seem to be just what i am looking for.... it seems to me what i am looking for was more of a linetype that could be applied rather than something that needs to be done while drafting. in theory, i'm guessing there is a function written into the linetype that adjust the dot spacing with respect to the radius of any given line segment. in practice, i have absolutely no idea how to do that (or where to start, even). thanks for your help tho!
