I have AutoCAD 2000 and would like to upgrade to a more recent version, but I'm not sure if I can simply buy an upgrade (say 2009 LT) or need to purchase the complete software package, as 2000 has been superceeded so many times since.

Any help would be great thank you... I'm new to the forum

Upgrades are available however, you might be better off if you purchase

the LT or full 2009 on eBay.

Some very nice pricing.

Yes, and welcome to the forums!

If you have full 2000 then the logical upgrade path is to full 2009 or 2010 and not LT. For pricing details contact your local authorized AutoDesk reseller. I'm not sure if there are any incentives currently being offered but you never know.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I'm going to do some pricing homework and see where it takes me.

Just be sure you buy a legal copy from a reputable source. You don't want to get caught trying to register a pirated copy of Autocad.
