Faouweb Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Hi, I'm looking for a tutorial explaining how can i draw a pipe line such as shown in this picture: (with autocad) Thank you Quote
Organic Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I know those symbols well now lol. I know how to create a simpel linetype, although not a complex one like that. Quote
rkent Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Thiat is an isometric drawing. In AutoCAD the basics are; 1) snap, Style, Isometric, specify vertical spacing (accept default normally)., 2) use the F5 key or Ctrl+E to toggle between iso planes. 3) set Polar on and set 30 degrees for the angle. For the symbols you will have to develop those for isometric drawing. Quote
ReMark Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Isometric piping symbols can be purchased separately as a block library from some third-party software developers if you do not want to develop your own. Here's an example: http://www.cadtoolsonline.com/isopipe.htm Quote
Organic Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Although its not hard to make those simple symbols. Quote
ReMark Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Not only do you have to make the symbols but you have to organize them (after naming them too) in a logical manner that will make their future use convienient. I would suggest placing the symbols on a new tool palette for ease of use. Quote
Faouweb Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Thank you for your help  i tried to do the same without symbols (I'll make a personal library) Quote
NH3man! Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Try doing it in 3D. Once you do you will not go back. Once you get used to it you will not like 2D at all. Quote
