I work on 2 monitors....I have my drawing window on the right monitor and all of my tools on the left monitor. How do I keep all of my toolbars and text window on the left screen? I thought that by simply saving would do it, but that doesn't work. At one time it was that way, but I don't know how I got it that way. Thanks

I can't work without them. We are getting new systemsin the next month with dual flat screens...can't wait. I joined a webcast tutorial today for 2006 and asked them the same question. Apparently there is nothing I can do. I know that this worked for me once before though. AARRGGHH Oh well I guess.

i also run two monitors. i havent had a problem with the toolbars staying put. however, that TOOLPALETTES keeps having to be repositioned.

i remember in 2000i, autocad could never remember where the toolbars were last. 2005 seems to be ok.

also, look at the vid card settings. dont know which setting to be specific. they are all a bit diff, but there are settings to control program behavior.

when i used to use AutoCAD 2000 and up there was always an option to save current toolbar layout under one of the tabs in the options dialogue box. I *think* this may do what you want.
I remember i always used to copy my saved layout to all the PC's in the office so when i had to help someone i could find the toolbar i wanted.
I seem to remember Venilla was the default??? Or something like that.

So try arranging the toolbars then saving this template and setting it as default.

I don't seem to have this option on LT so can't be more specific.

I tried to create my own profile under options after I had all of my toolbars set where I wanted them. When I hit "Set to Current" I put all of toolbars in the upper left corner of my right monitor as it usually does when I open AutoCAD. I have messed a lot with my display settings options and can't seem to get that to work either. :cry: So frustrating!!!
Maybe I should just give it up and just move them where I want them every time I open AutoCAD. :x

AutoCAD's profiles have nothing to do with where you toolbars will go with 2 monitors. I used to use 2 but not at my new job (not yet anyway). It's usually is a combination of a window's setting and a setting in your video card utility.

Something along the lines of remember folder/window locations. At last job I used ADT-2005 with 2 19" LCDs and my toolbars and windows stayed where I put them. I also used an nVidia Quadro FX-1300 PCIe but I don't see that card having different settings from say my GeForce FX5700. I also got them to stay put when I used a Matrox G450 dual head card.

This card is a NVIDIA G-Force MX 4000 video-208pci-128Twin.

A lot of complex settins. Hope that I haven't screwed anything up to bad yet.
