Noahma Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 many offices have their own layer standards, but there are some standardized ones out there depending on which country you are in. America has the AIA layer standard for all Architectural stuffs. Quote
CadTechJGC184 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Thanks Noahma, I will look into that. My new job has no standards. They want me to come up with then. Quote
ReMark Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I worked in the civil field for several years in both the municipal sector and for a private consulting firm. The municipal engineering department had its own standards for linetypes that harken back to the turn of the century. The private consulting firm relied exclusively on the state Department of Transportation standards as that was where the bulk of its work came from. Quote
CadTechJGC184 Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 thanks ReMark, Iwill look in to those! Quote
ReMark Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 For mechanical drawings look to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and/or the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for guidance on recommended linetypes. I believe that ANSI Y14.2M-1979 (R1987) covers line conventions and lettering. Quote
