wipeout, AEC mask blocks, and AEC polygon print problems

If I place any of the title items into my drawing and then go to print from paper space, they turn out this huge black blob on the drawing. How do I change it so that it will not plot anything within its boundaries? With the AEC polygon I have tried everything under the sun in its style options. Nothing I do will change the way it is plotted. The plot preview and the paper space view show correctly, only when I get my plot or DWF does it show the mask completely black.

I just tried a few other things, like solid hatch with color 255, CTB set to dither and Grey scale set to off, and screening set to 0 and it does the same thing, a big ugly black box. (printing this with the DWF driver that came with 09)
