Joan_Ray Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hey frnds, I have a large number of texts in my drawing. But of that I have to change layers and text sizes of them now. And as all the dwg and the texts are overlapping all over, its getting very hard to select these texts. Any thaught to do it fast. I use cad 2008 LT.(no select similar:x) Please someone. JOAN Quote
tkelly Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 HI, you must use FILTER command. You can use different types of selection sets. Type FILTER > ADD SELECTED OBJECT (bottom left corner of window)> select one of the text > select the selection set > say APPLY > select whole drawing or desired area using cross window > all texts are selected. Now without pressing esc you continue the changes you want to do. Hope it helps you Enjoy. Tom Kelly Quote
dumfatnhappy Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 not sure if 2008LY has this but if you select a line of text and right-click, you can hit 'select similar' and it will grap all the text in the dwg. Quote

earthtodan Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 To quick-select: Drag your box around everything you want to select (including everything you don't). Right click, go down to Quick Select, and a dialog box comes up that allows you to filter by layer color, etc. Quote

Joan_Ray Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 First of all thank you to Mr. Kelly. The filter command is good. By the time goes I will master this. Quote
