Annotation and edit referene in place

Hello,
I am using Auto cad 2008, I use annotation in any auto cad file ( for the text )
then I have attached this file xref into another file as a xref. The porblem i have that this xref file I could not open by using edit referene in place command.

I have got some error message which i have attached with this email.


if anyone knows this please help me

I have no experience with this particular error message, but from the look of things the x-ref in question is saved in an earlier format and that is apparently not good with edit-in-place. See what happens if you open the file and save it to your current format.
