MarcoW Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Frequently I receive drawings that prompt for a certain shape file (shx). When clicking cancel it might prompt several times for other shape files. Clicking OK is no option for i do not have the missing file. Is there a way to clean up the drawing so this "error" will be gone? Tnx. Quote
Dipali Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 have a look at the similar thread at the bottom of this page Quote
MarcoW Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Yes you are right, had not searched well enough. Sorry for that... I alwas send dwg by etransmit so all xrefs etc are transmitted with it. Some do not use etransmit, it is a pity. Maybe there is a way (by lisp or so) to search the drawing for objects that need the missing shx file. THen change them to another. By hand it seems not te be done. Tnx for the hint (should kick me in the #%$@ for not searching before asking). Quote
rkmcswain Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 If you can't be bothered with cleaning up the drawings, then this freeware app may be just right.... http://blog.jtbworld.com/2009/05/select-shape-file-dialog-boxes.html Quote
